EVER since I became a makeup junkie, I've been using foundation to cover some blemishes, redness and uneven color of my skin. Back then I wasn't happy with my skin texture because of the scars left during my adolescent years. So I used to apply foundation quite heavily because I just really wanted an even-toned, smooth and flawless skin. But it was heavy and uncomfortable and it didn't look natural. Once I tried getting regular facials and dermabrasion, my skin improved and my application gradually became lighter and lighter. Today, I still use foundation but in a light-handed way. So let me share you what foundation products have worked for me over the years. Here goes:
PALLADIO WET/DRY RICE POWDER FOUNDATION, P725
If it was a romantic affair, this would be my first love. I knew I had combination to oily skin so when I stepped into the Beauty Bar nearby my university, this was the first one suggested. I know you'd say that's expensive! But before you get intimidated by the price, you have to try. If your skin oils up easily just like mine, this one works so perfectly in mattifying your face. My oils just stopped from coming out. What's also good about this powder foundation is that you can apply it sheer or heavy.
MAYBELLINE WHITE SUPERFRESH POWDER FOUNDATION, P299
If you're looking for a more affordable powder foundation that I can vouch for then it's this. This one's a recent product in the market but it seems it was phased out easily. I don't see it anymore in the shelves of supermarkets here in La Union. I like this product because it doesn't CAKE! It's very lightweight. It's like compact powder but you know it has coverage. And it makes your face fairer and smooth.
MARY KAY TIMEWISE MATTE WEAR LIQUID FOUNDATION, P785
I got introduced to Mary Kay products by ma'am Olive who was the Senior Sales Director here in San Fernando, La Union. She recommended the Mary Kay Timewise Matte Wear Liquid Foundation because I have oily skin. If you have dry skin, the Luminous Wear is perfect for you. What can I say? IT'S THE BEST! Like it's the best thing that ever happened to my face. You could say it's pricey but it's the real deal. It made my skin look smooth, even-toned and velvety. I just love it!
MAX FACTOR FACE FINITY ALL DAY FLAWLESS 3-IN-1 FOUNDAITON, P1,018
I went out to try this one because I heard from my co-UMAP member that it's one of the holy grail foundations in the market. I immediately checked it out without batting my lashes! And yes the rumor is true! It is so gooood! What sets this apart from other foundations is that it's 3-in-1. It's a primer, concealer and foundation rolled into one. It has a lightweight formula. It goes on smoothly. It's buildable. And it dries out matte. Hands down!
MAX FACTOR AGELESS ELIXIR FOUNDATION + SERUM, P895
Due to the unavailability of the Max Factor Face Finity here in La Union, I had to switch to something available and it's this. My first buy was the wrong shade. It was a bit darker than my skin tone. So it didn't look well. I tried another shade: Beige. Lo and behold! It is my perfect shade. This one's a bit thick in consistency. However, it goes on smoothly. It's buildable and dries out dewy. I love that it has a serum. I guess this works well for mature skin but I don't mind. My skin loves it!
So there, these are the foundation products that I can't stop using. These are my go-to foundations for all time and I don't mind paying the price for good value. Cheers girls!
